Do you already play the ukulele but don’t know how to fingerpick or read from tablature? Alternatively, you want to be able to read the tabs a little faster and know which fingers to properly create the sound you want?
TAB & PLUCK is an interactive, online course that focus on reading tablature and using the correct fingers properly to produce the best sound.
The course is aimed at anyone who wants to use individual fingers to pluck the ukulele strings. It will provide a firm foundation for sight reading tablature and executing proper fingerpicking technique to produce a good tone, as needed for fingerstyle ukulele.
This class will prepare you for other fingerstyle ukulele courses listed below, hence serving as pre-requisites if you don’t already have it. You can always take the same class over and over again because the content is customized to the students in the class.
- PLUCK: pluck patterns to accompany songs, melodic fingerpicking, the next course after you’ve learned how to read tabs and fingerpick
- PLUCK & STRUM: authentic replication – replicate the song with plucking and strumming
- PLUCK & STRUM: chord melody arrangements (instrumental ukulele)
- RIFFS & LICKS: make your songs more interesting with recognizable riffs in introductions, instrumental interludes, endings (outros), turnarounds
- CLASSICAL UKULELE: one piece from each era (Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, ..to Contemporary)
The one-hour weekly class takes place on Zoom. The after-class pdf handout includes homework exercises and links to unlisted YouTube video recordings of the class (speaker and shared screen).
