3 Chord Thurs classical ukulele

Thursday 16th December 2021 is reserved for classical music on the ukulele, in line to conclude the two 7-week classes that have taken place in Zoom. The sheet music that have been uploaded will have chord names so that everyone else can play along with the performer while muted. We WILL NOT be sharing screen or scrolling. It will be concert-format, with all eyes on the performer. No screen share.

3 Chord Thurs Beatles lesser known songs

In line with our Beatles pluck, strum, and riff (7-week) class in Zoom, we share songs of the Beatles over two consecutive sessions of 3 Chord Thursday. On Thursday 9th December, 2021 we explore their lesser known songs. Because of the overwhelming interest in the Beatles we will have two halves, with a break at 4 pm EST. No warm-up.

Thanksgiving: food and/or travel

Thanksgiving on Thursday the 25th November 2021 is traditionally celebrated with food, but in-person family reunions usually require travel. Last year, we focussed on food. 3 Chord Thurs not so easy 2 or 3 chord songs

Join us on Thursday 21st October 2021 for songs that are not so easy to play or sing, despite having only 2 or 3 or 4 chords. The challenge could be any of the following:

  1. difficult chords to finger
  2. fast and frequent switching of chords
  3. switching chords on the off beat
  4. no apparent pattern to chords
  5. awkward switching between the chords
  6. tricky strum pattern (such as with syncopation)
  7. famous signature riff that’s hard to play
  8. difficult to sing and play at the same time
  9. unusual meter (5/4, 5/8, 7/8 time) or changes in meter
  10. fast tempo
