Thursday 16th December 2021 is reserved for classical music on the ukulele, in line to conclude the two 7-week classes that have taken place in Zoom. The sheet music that have been uploaded will have chord names so that everyone else can play along with the performer while muted. We WILL NOT be sharing screen or scrolling. It will be concert-format, with all eyes on the performer. No screen share.

In line with our Beatles pluck, strum, and riff (7-week) class in Zoom, we share songs of the Beatles over two consecutive sessions of 3 Chord Thursday. On Thursday 9th December, 2021 we explore their lesser known songs. Because of the overwhelming interest in the Beatles we will have two halves, with a break at 4 pm EST. No warm-up.

This time of the year we see a lot of red and green. For Thursday 23rd of December 2021, let’s wear these colors and share songs that have these colors or invoke that festive holiday feeling of ‘Tis the Season.

Thanksgiving on Thursday the 25th November 2021 is traditionally celebrated with food, but in-person family reunions usually require travel. Last year, we focussed on food. This year we give the option of songs about travel, too. Coincidentally a previous session on songs about travel was extremely popular. Plenty of ideas!

Join us on 18th November 2021 for songs that are one hit wonders. Too bad Pachelbel didn’t live long enough to see the reach of his canon and earn any royalties. You just need one hit!

To acknowledge Veterans Day (a.k.a. Armistice Day, Remembrance Day), performers will stand up and play songs in any theme or category or era on Thursday 11th November 2021.

Join us on Thursday 4th November 2021 for songs that are easy to play and sing but require many chords, a lot more than three chords. Join our Facebook public group to see the latest posts and interact with others. Bring a friend. See you in Zoom before 3 pm EST (7 pm GMT)! After the session ends and the recording stops, you’re welcome to hang out and choose a breakout room of your choice.

In anticipation of Halloween, please join us on Thursday 28th October 2021 for songs about different parts of the human body — different not many songs about the same part of the body!!

Join us on Thursday 21st October 2021 for songs that are not so easy to play or sing, despite having only 2 or 3 or 4 chords. The challenge could be any of the following:

1. difficult chords to finger
2. fast and frequent switching of chords
3. switching chords on the off beat
4. no apparent pattern to chords
5. awkward switching between the chords
6. tricky strum pattern (such as with syncopation)
7. famous signature riff that’s hard to play
8. difficult to sing and play at the same time
9. unusual meter (5/4, 5/8, 7/8 time) or changes in meter
10. fast tempo
